L-1 Identity Solutions Launches ID-Suite, Customized Identity and Document Verification Solutions for Border Management, Law Enforcement and Driver’s License Markets
ID-Suite Includes New and Enhanced Document Readers, Software and Document Databases
STAMFORD, Conn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–L-1 Identity Solutions, Inc. (NYSE:ID), a leading provider of identity solutions and services, today introduced ID Suite, a new and enhanced set of hardware and software packaged into customized solution sets to meet specific identity challenges in international border management, law enforcement and U.S. driver’s license applications. The suite of hardware and software solutions offer a better and more efficient means of verifying identity documents, tracking issuance and usage of identity documents. It also delivers improved business operation efficiencies by automating document authentication, data capture, document scanning, data management, workflow processing, auditing and reporting.
“Agencies are struggling to find a balance between issuing secure identity documents and following processes that comply with federal legislation and standards, while also managing their businesses efficiently and delivering strong customer service,” said Leo Sullivan, President of the Secure Credentialing division of L-1 Identity Solutions. “ID-Suite is designed to help our customers meet this challenge, offering a new standard for secure, accurate and efficient document authentication, scanning and identity data management.”
ID-Suite is built on L-1’s core document authentication technology, currently deployed in more than 4,000 installations worldwide. ID-Suite features L-1’s new document reader, the J1000. The device is the first of kind, smaller in size and weight and designed specifically for small documents, such as drivers’ licenses, making it well suited for law enforcement use in police cars or at police stations. Additional hardware components include new versions of the fifth generation B5000 and B5000-SC (Smart Chip) document scanners that read RFID embedded e-passports and secure drivers licenses. Enhancements include increased speed, enhanced accuracy, improved ergonomics and usability, and automatic document detection all in a smaller and lighter weight reader, making it ideal for border management applications.
A set of software applications that run congruently with the hardware devices is also included. Add-on modules such as Global ID, ID-License, ID-Passport, and ID Reference can be purchased to further extend the document authentication capabilities of each solution.
Ideal for Law Enforcement, Border Management and Driver’s License Applications
ID-Suite includes advanced document authentication hardware and software that provides leading-edge authentication, accuracy, speed and biometric integration capabilities for all markets. Further, the document authentication hardware offerings are customized to handle the specific need of select markets. This includes workflow and delegation of adjudication authority within the driver’s license market; quick and accurate processing of all international identity documents, including those with smart chips, within the border management market; and mobility and access to information within the law enforcement market.
ID Suite is ideal for use in law enforcement, offering a small, compact and light weight portable unit that can run from a laptop computer without requiring stand-alone power. It also is designed for ID1 size documents, eliminating unnecessary functionality and reducing space requirements.
“L-1’s J1000 document authentication device has proven to be an extremely robust solution for rapid ID collection and authentication,” said Scott McCallum of the Pinellas County Sherriff’s Department. “The ease of use and scalability of the J1000 unit allows for simple deployment in a variety of environments to include mobile applications.”
Twenty one U.S. States currently use L-1’s secure credentialing solutions. ID Suite offers the most complete and advanced drivers’ license/ID template database for adjudication of identity credentials using automated data and image analysis. The solution includes image and demographic identity data capture for issuance processing, auditing and data mining, as well as a controlled process for the capture, scanning, vetting, storage, reporting and analysis of identity data. ID Suite seamlessly integrates within existing data infrastructures and offers the flexibility to add multiple biometrics.
Deployed in over 20 countries’ border crossings today, L-1 border management applications provide enhanced border security, faster passenger processing and better customer service. ID Suite offers a smaller and lighter e-passport reader specifically designed for border control with enhanced RFID functionality for faster and more accurate reads of both RFID and non-RFID passports, improved usability and document handling to support new e-passports for global identity verification at all international borders and advanced e-passport capabilities, such as automatic document detection and an expanded passport document database. ID Suite can be easily integrated with additional security layers based on L-1 leading multi-biometric capabilities.
