Check out this discussion that explores the future of campus cards and where they fit on the modern campus. CR80News Editor and Publisher, Chris Corum, led a NACAS-sponsored virtual roundtable discussion on the changes facing campus card programs and how the modern demand for identity management is impacting the ID program’s position in Auxiliary Services.
The days are gone when campus card programs existed to grant meal plan and library privileges. Today’s cards are crucial tools in efforts to secure campus facilities, networks and data. Technological, societal and regulatory changes are turning card offices into identity management providers and plastic cards into secure credentials. The push and pull over who should control the card’s future direction – auxiliary services, IT, security – is heating up.
