Motorola to add NFC to future gadgets

Motorola says it is looking into outfitting future business products with NFC technology for contactless payments. The company is expected to unveil its strategy, including which products will get the technology, at a big launch event next week in Paris.
Although Motorola has kept mum about the specifics of the initiative, Andy McBain, Motorola’s senior mobile computing and RFID product manager, told eWEEK Europe the company is “working to introduce a development to support contactless adoption.”
McBain also pointed out that the NFC development is in line with Motorola’s other projects in RFID technology, viz. its work with Dunlop Tires and Datalinx Computer Systems to embed RFID chips into British Touring Car tires to ensure they meet standard specifications.
