Mobey Forum, an international bank-led association aimed at promoting mobile commerce, has established a new chapter in North America that will address mobile issues facing the region.
Mobey Forum North America brings together the region’s banks and payment providers – including chapter leader Bank of America, American Express, Capital One, Visa, MasterCard and others – to work through issues impacting the mobile financial ecosystem’s future and accelerate the development of sustainable mobile services to the North American mass market.
“Banks and payment service providers in North America are yet to clarify their opinions on how to develop mobile payment services,” commented Sirpa Nordlund, executive director of Mobey Forum. “This means there is a real need for stakeholders to find synergies and foster the development of the ecosystem. The North American Chapter aims to provide an environment that meets this need.”
While Mobey Forum North America is bank-led, members from any supervised payment institutions, technology companies and mobile network operators are invited to join.
