MIKOH tapped for Thailand electronic vehicle registration

MIKOH announced a five-year partnership contract, with a five-year option, to implement a national electronic vehicle registration system in Thailand.
The system, which MIKOH officials say will go live during the second half of 2010, will employ Destruct-on-Removal RFID Smart&Secure EVR tags, RFID decals and RFID readers.
MIKOH Smart&Secure RFID tags provide the certainty that stolen tags cannot be applied to unregistered vehicles. Any attempt to remove a MIKOH Smart&Secure tag renders it useless.
MIKOH has partnered with two Thai companies for the project – Konlakorn and Somapa. Konlakorn will be responsible for financial backing and administration of the EVR infrastructure, while Somapa will handle system integration
