Middle East, Asia leading demand for mobile wallet

New research from TNS MENA shows demand for mobile wallet services rising in the Middle East and Asia, while the West lags behind, reports Khaleej Times.
According to TNS MENA, consumers around the globe are warming to the idea of using their handsets for NFC payments and mobile banking services – particularly in Asia, which is spearheading the market, and the Middle East, which has seen consumer interest in mobile wallets grow at 37% and 31% in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, respectively.
Hamilton-Clark added that a quarter of Japanese mobile users are now managing their finances and paying for products via a mobile wallet. He expects the rest of the world to follow suit, but at varying speeds.
