The Odawa Casino Resort (OCR) in Michigan has installed the InvoTech GIMS RFID uniform tracking system to automate the inventory tracking and control of thousands of valuable uniforms worn by team members at the property.
The GIMS RFID inventory system replaces OCR’s previous bar code installation where uniforms had to be manually scanned for the tracking of inventory. Uniforms now have ultra-high frequency RFID tags attached which automate the inventory process.
GIMS interfaces with the White Conveyors U-Pick-It System to provide 24-hour automated uniform distribution to approximately 600 team members. The system tracks when team members take delivery of their garments to maintain an accurate inventory of all uniforms.
The upgrade to RFID tracking tightens loss control and reduces costs in non-revenue producing departments, as uniforms are often lost traveling to and from the laundry.
