About 250 more volunteers are needed to test Maryland Transit Administration’s new contactless fare system called the CharmCard, which is expected to eventually be compatible with the system used by the Washington DC Metro system.
The test will run from Oct. 1 to Nov. 30. After the test period participants will have to return their cards to MTA. For their assistance, volunteers will receive a free January 2010 monthly pass.
To qualify, volunteers must be full-fare cash customers who ride the Metro Subway more than other MTA services and who agree to buy their fares during the test period from a ticket vending machine at a Metro Subway station.
