Mandarin Oriental, Boston selects InvoTech RFID uniform system

InvoTech Systems, a provider of inventory tracking solutions within the hospitality industry, announced that Mandarin Oriental, Boston installed InvoTech’s ultra-high frequency (UHF) RFID Uniform System to manage employee uniform processes and reduce costs.
Until now, Mandarin Oriental, Boston counted and tracked more than 2,000 garments by hand. This was labor-intensive and error prone. InvoTech automates and streamlines these processes with real-time reporting capability.
Mandarin Oriental, Boston sewed a durable UHF-RFID chip into a pouch on each of its uniforms, enabling InvoTech’s system to track each garment’s movement from laundry, to storage, to employee via antennas placed at strategic locations.
UHF-RFID tracking technology reads entire bins of soiled uniforms as they are collected and travel to the laundry. The system also records where each uniform is stored and when staff members retrieve them for use.
InvoTech’s system also tracks the number of times a uniform is washed and provides reports that enable operators to accurately budget for replacements.
