M2SYS has announced the release of a new multi-biometric solution designed for use in the health care industry as a patient identification system. The system, called RightPatient, is being touted as the health care industry’s first multi-biometric and instantly deployable patient identity solution.
The system was designed with two purposes in mind, to increase security against fraud or identity theft in health care environments and to reduce instances of mistakes related to incorrect patient identification.
Additionally, the system is capable of authenticating identities via four different modes of biometrics: fingerprint, finger vein, palm vein and iris biometrics. Other aspects of the system being touted by M2SYS include its ability to eliminate duplicate patient records, identify unconscious patients and be rapidly integrated into existing patient data management systems.
