Lumidigm Fingerprint Sensors Dominate TSA Qualified Products List
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Lumidigm Inc., the creators of multispectral imaging biometrics, announces that two of its fingerprint sensors have been tested and approved for inclusion on the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Qualified Products List (QPL). This QPL is part of the TSA’s effort to encourage and expand the use of biometrics at U.S. airports.
Now airport operators can be assured that Lumidigm’s products meet the TSA’s stringent technical requirements and demanding Performance standards for biometric access control at airports in the U.S.
Two of Lumidigm’s multispectral fingerprint sensors “the J-Series and the Venus Series” met the criteria established by the TSA and Department of Homeland Security for the QPL. Lumidigm is the only company that has qualified fingerprint sensors on the QPL. This unique position provides tremendous flexibility for airport operators and advantages to access control providers. Systems and readers that integrate Lumidigm’s sensors meet TSA biometric requirements through Lumidigm’s qualification.
“Our inclusion on this select list is an important development for Lumidigm,” said Lumidigm President and CEO Bob Harbour. “Our multispectral fingerprint sensors are uniquely positioned to enhance security at our nation’s airports. ” Harbour continues, “The qualification at the sensor level brings value to our integrators, opening up this large and valuable market.”
