New Hampshire-based Liska Biometry’s Al-Cor ID solutions subsidiary recently deployed some 5,000 ID cards from the Arizona Diamondbacks major league baseball team that will allow fans access to the team’s luxury suites as well as the ability to purchase refreshments at concession stands.
DOVER, NH – Liska Biometry, a leading provider of biometric identification solutions, announced that its Al-Cor ID Solutions subsidiary has produced 5,000 cards for the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Premium Package for the Legacy Club as well as 18,000 Washington Redskins’ Fan Appreciation Day souvenir beaded necklaces for the City of Virginia Beach.
Jack Lecza, Senior Vice-President of Operations for Liska Biometry in Phoenix, said, “The sports market is yet another that our credentialing expertise can support. In the case of the Diamondbacks, the cards are to allow access to the luxury suites as well as for refreshments/concession stands for the suites and for field box seats. As prices for sporting events rise, and as teams offer more and more amenities for their fans who are prepared to pay premium prices, the risk of counterfeit tickets and other access devices increases. Our cards offer clubs like the Diamondbacks a relatively inexpensive way to protect their investments and their fans using state-of-the-art biometric technology.”
He added, “Recently, Al-Cor produced 18,000 beaded necklaces as part of Washington Redskins’ Beach Blitz to be held in the City of Virginia Beach from May 18 to May 20. The Beach Blitz is managed by the City of Virginia Beach Tourism Bureau and consists of multiple venues and activities that bring fans and the Redskins together in many forms from the NFL Football Challenge (150,000 square feet of interactive games) to a golf tournament and Gala. Al-Cor’s necklaces will be worn by everyone involved in the Beach Blitz, holding identity and participation credentials.”
Christopher LeClerc, President of Liska, said, “Our core business is our total ID management solution, and we are finding that in this day and age, demand for such security is on the rise even in places where one normally wouldn’t consider credentialing of individuals to be an issue. Given the huge enthusiasm in America, and all over the world, for sports as a major source of entertainment, we believe that this market offers Liska another segment potentially rich in customers.”
These wins follow previous successes by Al-Cor in the Phoenix, Arizona area. In November, Al-Cor ID Solutions subsidiary won a contract to produce employee ID cards for Valley Metro and discount ID cards for Valley Metro disabled, youth and seniors bus passengers. The contract calls for Phoenix-based Al-Cor to provide equipment, software and support for a system that enrolls and authenticates Valley Metro employees and bus discount ID card holders. The system will be deployed at 10 facilities in Phoenix and the surrounding cities served by Valley Metro. In December, the Company announced that Al-Cor was awarded a contract to provide the Sheriff’s Office of Maricopa County (which covers Phoenix) with wrist bands that are part of a total inmate identity solution in keeping with the Sheriff’s unique approach to inmate identification.
