The fire fighters training academy in Tulln, Austria has installed a LEGIC contactless credentialing system.
The Regional Fire Service College in Lower Austria is Europe’s largest training center for fire fighters. When choosing the new security system, the challenge was to meet the high requirements: flexible access authorization, an affordable acquisition cost and low operating and maintenance costs.
The chosen Kaba exos solution, combined with CardLink, captures the data of around 14,000 course participants a year in a central system and manages their access to the hotel and the training area. CardLink enables access to the training buildings located across the site and wirelessly secures the system.
LEGIC also announced it has partnered with Multicard AG, a general contractor in the smart card project consultancy and implementation. Multicard has closed on a license partnership with LEGIC and will now offer LEGIC card solutions.
With this partnership, the company is reacting to the growing demand for multifunctional smart cards. Multicard has already successfully introduced LEGIC based contactless smart cards as customer cards with an integrated ticket for local public transport services in the town of Augsburg, Germany. Besides applications in the field of electronic fare management, Multicard is planning to use LEGIC technology in such areas as ticketing and access control.
