Larsen & Toubro deploys RFID vehicle tracking at its Hazira facilities

Larsen & Toubro (L&T), one of India’s largest engineering and construction companies, has deployed an RFID vehicle tracking solution by Mumbai-based Essen RFID to ensure heightened security at its Hazira facilities.
Essen RFID’s vehicle tracking system offers real-time tracking to monitor and improve security, as well as parking and access control at L&T facilities. The RFID solution manages high volume traffic areas at the time of entering and exiting, while preventing unauthorized vehicles from entering the company’s lot.
Xtenna RFID integrated antenna-readers were installed, one each for the entry and exit gates of the company lot. PARKA Tags were reissued to each vehicle and affixed to its windshield. The tracking system incorporates a signal light triggered through RFID at the entry gate to manage the flow of vehicles
The automated system maintains track records, has report generation functions that provide details of vehicles and their owners, tags, entry and exit times, and the vehicles present in the parking lot at any given time, thus providing a complete record of vehicular movement for the administrator.
