Integrated Technology Group (ITG), a division of Vernon Library Supplies, Inc., today announced a new patent and the addition of Ken Evans as vice president of sales and support.
ITG’s newly patented DirectReader is designed to eliminate the need for an SIP-based application for library circulation staff stations. In essence, staff members no longer have to learn a different operation or new workflow when using RFID, according to ITG. Libraries retain their existing circulation software and simply replace bar code-based scanning with RFID.
“This is the first in what we hope will be many patents filed by ITG and accepted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office,” said ITG’s Product Manager Amy Thropp.
The company also signed seven new clients in the third quarter of 2007, according to a press release.
