IrisGuard has announced that its IG-AD100 Dual-Eye Iris Camera has received Standardization Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) for deployment to India for their Unique ID (UID) project.
STQC is performed through India’s Department of Information Technology and ensures that biometric technology fits the standards for reliability, safety and security as designated by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the department handling the UID project.
The Dual-Eye camera, which was developed for national ID projects such as India’s UID, has also received zero ratings of false positive and false negative readings in testing performed by the International Biometrics Group, a biometrics research lab.
IrisGuard’s partner in India for the certification process, 4G Identity Solutions, has said that IrisGuard was selected by them for this project as it is field proven for high-quality images in large-scale biometric identity programs.
