Intility deploys SMS PASSCODE password reset solution to 15,000 users in Norway

Norwegian managed cloud provider Intility has deployed SMS PASSCODE’s Password Reset Module to more than 500 companies and 15,000 users on the Intility platform in Norway. Users can access the service at no additional charge.
Prior to deploying the solution, Intility’s policy of having users frequently change their password resulted in constant calls to the help desk. As password related calls grew, it became increasingly difficult to quickly verify the identity of the person requesting the reset.
So, the company turned to the SMS PASSCODE solution because of its strong level of security and ease of implementation.
“The solution saves Intility time, and thus money, by providing a way for users to reset passwords without having a technician do it for them,” says Arne Klæboe, head of security and identity management at Intility.
The SMS PASSCODE solution offers self-service password reset functionality and leverages multifactor authentication to confirm the user’s identity.
The Intility cloud platform enables one installation of the software that is then shared by all of its customers.
“After reading the design guidelines from SMS Passcode’s admin guide, we installed the software. Then it was a simple matter of granting the test group access through a group in Active Directory,” Klæboe says. “When the test was successful, we allowed all our users to access the portal and sent out a newsletter informing about the new service. Our service desk is also informing about the reset service if a user calls in asking to get a password reset.”
The self-service portal enables users to easily change their passwords anytime from any type of device.
