Higher One has paired with Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Indiana to electronically distribute financial aid and other monetary disbursements to students via Higher One’s OneDisburse refund management service.
Under the new program students will be sent a card in the mail with instructions on how to log onto a secure Web site and select their refund preference. Students will have the option to transfer funds to a provided OneAccount or an existing bank account of their choosing.
Previously, Indiana Tech handled refunds by paper check, which required students to pick their refunds up from the campus’ Business Office; and checks not picked up were mailed to students through the mail.
The new system alleviates a lot of the stress that accompanies the paper check method. Students no longer have to wait for a check in the mail or wait long lines to pick it up on campus. Additionally, campus staff no longer spends extended periods of time printing, stuffing, and tracking paper checks.
