India-based mining company, Vedanta, has partnered with EssenRFID to leverage its Xtenna vehicle tracking system for the monitoring of over 1,500 trucks entering at its Jharsuguda, Orissa site.
Trucks are fitted with an EssenRFID Parka ultra high frequency tag. As the truck passes through an RFID enabled portal details of the truck are being recorded. Details including in- and out-time, truck operator name, license plate number and total weight; all are logged by the RFID system and then recorded into a server.
This real-time data transfer helps ensure greater visibility across the value chain and helps identify leakages thereby eliminating any inconsistencies in the system.
