Impinj and RFsense took part in the joint installment of a complete source to floor RFID solution for “memove,” a new apparel brand and part of Brazil’s Valdac Global Brands.
Initially in 2011, the implementation will involve three stores and include more than 40,000 tagged items per location. The company also plans to open an additional 54 stores within the next five years, all utilizing RFID technology.
The RFID system in each store comprises six Impinj Speedway Revolution readers, three Speedway xPortal readers and Impinj Brickyard antennas at the point of sale. RFsense provides engineering and system integration services, and specialized middleware software for the project.
memove’s supply manufacture facilities in Brazil, China and other locations are using Impinj Monza chip-based RFID tags sewn into the labels of garments and encoded with serialized SKU data. This allows for tracking incoming goods, managing inventory, completing point-of-sale transactions, including via self-checkout kiosks, and for electronic article surveillance (EAS), as well as the processing of any necessary returns.
memove also has plans to introduce additional capabilities designed to enhance the customer experience, including smart mirrors and other interactive devices.
