Impinj Releases New “GrandPrix Kit” For Companies Testing Their RFID Systems
Calling it an enabler for VARs, system integrators and test labs, Seattle-based RFID tag and reader manufacturer Impinj announced the availability of its new GrandPrix Evaluation kit this morning.
The company’s new $3,250 product includes features to help companies analyze the effectiveness of their RFID systems.

SEATTLE, WA–(Marketwire – June 4, 2007) – Leading UHF Gen 2 radio frequency identification (RFID) tag chip and reader supplier Impinj, Inc. today announced the availability of the GrandPrix™ Evaluation Kit enabling VARs, system integrators, test laboratories and end users to assess the company’s far-field and near-field UHF RFID solutions for pallet-, case-, and item-level tagging applications.
The first suite of UHF RFID assessment products and tools to include item-level testing capability, the GrandPrix Evaluation Kit comprises:
– 1 Speedway® UHF Gen 2 reader with power supply
– 2 far-field antennas
– 1 Brickyard™ near-field antenna
– Sample pack of Monza™ chip-powered UHF Gen 2 tags for pallet-, case-and item-level tagging applications provided by Impinj tag and inlay partners
