We here at RFIDNews hear about new RFID products constantly (like, at least twice a day). So we decided to ask Impinj’s Mendy Ouzillou, product line director of RFID reader products, a couple of questions about the company’s new GrandPrix RFID kit:
Q: Why are kits like GrandPrix so necessary? Are companies perplexed about how well their newly installed RFID systems are working?
A: “The GrandPrix evaluation kits are necessary to meet the pent up demand for item-level tagging (ILT) applications. The kits enable new VARs and system integrators to ‘test drive’ the Speedway reader before committing to signing up with Impinj. The kits are also used by test labs who use them to become familiar with the Speedway reader as well as ILT technology. The kits are not aimed at verifying existing RFID systems.”
Q: What makes Impinj’s kit stand out?
A: “The key differentiators of the GrandPrix evaluation kit are the ILT components. There are many customers wanting to test their ILT application and now they can.”
