ImageWare Systems Inc. Announced that the Navy’s Tactical Biometric Collection and Matching System team recently received the Technology-to-Sea Excellence Award for excellence and superior performance. The team utilized ImageWare’s IWS Biometric Engine for a mobile, multi-biometric identity management prototype solution. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren gave the award.
As the prime contractor, ImageWare developed a mobile, multi-biometric identity management prototype solution based on its IWS Biometric Engine and supporting devices that included multi-modal biometric capabilities, including face, finger and iris, ruggedized for mission-critical objectives.
The IWS Biometric Engine is a multi-biometric identity management product used by government and commercial enterprises to biometrically search and match populations of unlimited sizes for identity confirmation. These include searching and matching for verification of an identity, exhaustive search for identification, watchlist management and existing biometric population management and enhancement.
IWS Biometric Engine employs a multi-biometric enrollment, management and authentication platform that is technology agnostic, enabling users to utilize almost any biometric devices and algorithms from virtually any vendor, as well as support the combination of the following biometric types, including: single fingerprint, livescan fingerprint, 2D face, 3D face, iris, palm scan, finger vein, palm vein, hand geometry, palm, DNA, signature, voice, and retina.
