IdenTrust partners with DirectTrust, Dominion Resources taps AMAG

IdenTrust providing digital certs for secure health care communication
IdenTrust announced it is a participant in the DirectTrust Partnership for Patients Program (P4PP) that aims to make it easier for patients and health care consumers to securely share personal health information with medical professionals at hospitals, offices, clinics and other locations via secure email.
IdenTrust digital certificates are a component of the program, which leverages a secure, identity-assured email network to remove the cost barriers and complexity that can make it difficult for patients and consumers to confidently engage in two-way digital communication with their care providers.
DirectTrust is a collaborative, non-profit alliance of more than 150 health IT and health care provider organizations that have joined forces to support secure, interoperable health information exchange via the message protocols. IdenTrust digital certificates provide the identity proofing with EHNAC-DirectTrust accredited health care information service providers to ensure the security and privacy of the communications within the Partnership for Patients Program.
Individuals who join P4PP will have access to DirectTrust’s nationwide network of 58,000 health care organizations. They can also take advantage of Direct exchange, which enables simple electronic health information exchange similar to regular email, with added encryption and identity assurance for additional privacy
Evolis, CPI extend partnership
Evolis and CPI Card Group have extended their partnership agreement to provide U.S. banks with the EMV-capable instant card issuance solution Card@Once.
CPI Card Group and Evolis have been partnering since 2011 to provide CPI’s instant issuance solution, Card@Once, which has been deployed by thousands of bank branches throughout the United States.
Card issuers leveraging the Card@Once solution can issue a fully functioning, personalized EMV debit or credit card immediately after opening a bank account or to replace a lost or stolen card.
Dominion Resources taps AMAG
Dominion Resources Inc., one of the nation’s largest producers and transporters of energy, selected AMAG Technology’s Symmetry Access Control System to secure its offices, plant and operations facilities in Virginia and several other states. AMAG Technology is a security solution provider specializing in access control, intrusion detection, video management, policy-based platform solutions and visitor management.
Dominion chose AMAG’s Symmetry access control system because it would help them meet North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) requirements. NERC CIP is the government standard for the nation’s bulk energy providers. NERC CIP protects critical infrastructure from the risk of physical and cyber attacks. Symmetry meets all NERC CIP requirements for physical access control.
Dominion has an energy portfolio that produces about 24,300 megawatts of generation, 12,200 miles of natural gas transmission, gathering and storage pipeline, and 6,500 miles of electric transmission lines. Dominion serves utility and retail energy customers in 14 states. Symmetry will secure plants in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington DC and California.
Zwipe unveils Access 2.0
Zwipe announced the launch of Zwipe Access 2.0. The updated access control product has several enhancements such as faster authentication, enhanced image and capture capabilities, and reduced false rejection rates.
The Zwipe Access biometric card is compatible with most proximity and smart card readers. The on-card 3D capacitive fingerprint scanner captures and matches on the card, enabling users to maintain the security of their own biometric data. At no time is biometric data communicated to any reader, hard drive or external database.
Zwipe Access cards can be issued to privileged staff and personnel for certain high-security areas such as server rooms and pharmacies, providing the enhanced security benefits of 2-factor biometric authentication without the need to change existing access control system software or readers.
