Identive Group has made plans to advance its production capacity for core RFID technology – high frequency and ultra-high frequency inlays encapsulated with a microchips bonded to an Identive-designed antenna.
RFID technology is on the incline, gaining widespread adoption for applications in transit, event ticketing, logistics and contactless payment. Identive has plans to capitalize on this growing trend as well as the still emerging applications such as NFC tagging, payment and pharma track and trace.
The company has already more than double its production capacity in Germany and amplified its manufacturing in the Asia Pacific market with the recent acquisition of Singapore-based Smartag.
“We plan to increase production capacity in our Munich and Singapore plants and to commence production of RFID inlays in the U.S. with the goal of doubling our total inlay production capacity over the next 12 months” stated Michael Kober, Managing Director of Transponders for Identive Group.
