Identive Group has revealed a new open-standards based solution that enables users to access secure buildings with the tap of a smart phone.
According to Identive, the solution integrates the PLAID government-grade access authentication protocol with the secure processor within an NFC-enabled smart phone. When used with Identive’s new line of TouchSecure readers, the NFC phone can be used in place of traditional physical access credentials, such as smart cards, to quickly and easily enter secure areas.
In addition to user convenience, the solution should also spare credential issuers the expense of dealing with lost or stolen cards, or having to issue a new card for every security upgrade, according to Identive.
Identive will be on hand to demonstrate the NFC physical access solutions this week at the International Security Conference and Exhibition – ISC West 2012 in Las Vegas.
