HID buys DemoTeller
HID Global announced that it has acquired DemoTeller, a provider of instant issuance solutions for the financial market. With this acquisition, HID Global is able to address the needs of financial institutions and retailers for instant issuance of personalized financial or payment cards, such as a chip card.
DemoTeller’s offerings expand HID Global’s secure issuance portfolio to include financial instant issuance software, hosted distributed printers and HSM hardware. DemoTeller enables HID Global to sell a financial instant issuance solution to financial institutions and retailers, addressing the needs of payment card issuers wanting to offer their customers instant access to their payment card offerings.
Financial institutions are investing in new software and hardware to meet EMV standards for smart payment cards. The DemoTeller solution, coupled with HID printers and consumables, gives financial institutions and retailers the ability to hand a customer a personalized card that is activated, which increases the likelihood that the customer will use it immediately. At the same time, consumers value the instant gratification of receiving a payment card. HID Global now connects this convenience and efficiency with the market-specific solution from DemoTeller to complement HID’s existing printers that are used to personalize cards.
