German language specialist Hexaglot will unveil its latest product, the Traveller SC, at CeBIT 2006 March 9-15 in Hamburg. The mobile language computer features smart card technology that replaces some 153 bilingual dictionaries. Each of the available smart cards comes with six languages and four different regional variants.
Hexaglot’s Traveller SC Speaks 18 Languages – With Panache
HAMBURG, Germany– Just in time to eliminate language barriers for the upcoming soccer World Cup, the Hamburg based language specialist Hexaglot will unveil its latest product at this year’s CeBIT: Traveller SC, a language computer featuring smart card technology. This multitalented machine replaces no fewer than 153 bilingual dictionaries for travel to over 140 countries, provides useful information in the gastronomical and automobile domains, and is anything but tight-lipped when it comes to word forms in all the available languages. This handy mobile translator can be retrofitted for additional languages and is elegantly accommodated in a black flip protector.
Regional language packages
Traveller SC comes with smart cards, each of which contains six languages, which in turn are available in four different regional variants. For example, the “south” version speaks German, English, Greek, Turkish, Italian and Portuguese, whereas the “west” variant can prove helpful for (among others) French, Spanish, Italian, and Dutch. Sojourners to Scandinavia can equip themselves with the “north” version, and the “east” version is ideal for travel to eastern countries.
There is also a universal smart card for world travelers containing all 18 languages in the product line. Each smart card translates in both directions of each available language combination.
