Heartland Payment Systems increases OneCard functionality
Princeton, N.J.-based Heartland Payment Systems’ Campus Solutions division has added a series of product enhancements and services to its Campus OneCard product suite, including an emergency notification system, attendance verification and automatic account transfer.
Heartland’s Campus OneCard serves as a multi-functional campus ID and prepaid card that pays for books and laundry, vending, off-campus purchases and more. The OneCard System also provides access control and security and activities and events management.
“The expanded offering of products, services and functionality will help colleges and universities unlock the value of their campus card programs, leading to increased cost-efficiency, student safety and campus-wide communication,” said Fred Emery, vice president and general manager, Heartland Campus Solutions.
The new OneCard enhancements, which are backed by Heartland’s service and support infrastructure, include:
–OneCard Notify, an integrated system-wide notification system that enables administrators to reach an entire campus or select groups in an instant via SMS text, email, terminal messages, active alert beacons and more.
–OneCard Smart Reg, a PC-based card reader device that allows for recorded data on a driver license to be read and automatically populated within system database fields to properly identify individuals.
–OneCard Verify, a simplified, PC-based validation terminal that enables campuses to record attendance and verify account privileges without the need for hardware terminals.
–Automatic Account Transfer, a Web-based system that automatically transfers funds from a cardholder’s bank account into his/her OneCard account, based on time interval or balance threshold.
–Improved Customer Support, a new live chat function on 1card.com that gives campuses direct access to Heartland’s support team.
