Hatim Tyabji rejoins eFunds board

Hatim Tyabji, chairman of Datacard Group, executive chairman of Bytemobile, and ambassador-at-large for Benchmark Capital, has rejoined eFunds Corporation’s board of directors. Mr. Tyabji was also acting CEO of Datacard until the recent hiring of Jeffrey J. Hattara as its president and CEO (See related story below).
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – eFunds Corporation (NYSE: EFD), a leading provider of risk management, electronic payments, ATM and global outsourcing solutions, today announced that Hatim Tyabji will rejoin the company’s board of directors at its meeting in May.
Tyabji is executive chairman of Bytemobile, a mobile data infrastructure company; chairman of Datacard Group, a global provider of secure ID and card personalization; and ambassador-at-large for Benchmark Capital. Previously, he was founding chairman and CEO of Saraide.com; chairman and CEO of VeriFone; and president, information systems for the Sperry Corporation. Tyabji is recognized for both his visionary innovations and his executive leadership.
In 2001 he received the Point Of Sale (POS) Industry’s Lifetime Achievement award; in 2000 he was honored as the Academy of Management’s Distinguished Executive of the Year and received the Silicon India Lifetime Achievement award for excellence in business and technology.
Tyabji serves on the boards of Best Buy and Merchant eSolutions. He is a trustee of the Carnegie Institute and a member of the dean’s council of the State University of New York at Buffalo. He holds a B.S. and M.S. both in Electrical Engineering and an M.B.A. in International Business. He is a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program and was awarded an honorary
Doctorate by the State University of New York.
