Hackers targeting health care
Cyberattacks over the next five years will cost U.S. health care systems $305 billion in cumulative lifetime revenue, according to a report from Accenture.
Accenture estimates that one in 13 patients – roughly 25 million people – will have personal information, such as social security or financial records, stolen from health care technology systems over the next five years.
Addressing cybersecurity proactively can improve a provider’s ability to thwart attacks by an average of 53%. But there is a significant gap in how well prepared providers are to deal with such inevitabilities.
Gemalto’s Polish facility ISO 14298 certified
Gemalto has been awarded the Intergraf ISO 14298 certification for its operation in Gdansk, Poland. This official recognition by Intergraf, the Federation for Print and Digital Communication, places Gemalto in the position of having all of its five ID document production sites formally certified.
This new certification is an international standard that specifies requirements for an organization’s security management system. Intergraf’s provides confidential Implementation Guidelines and Intergraf Certification Requirements (ICR), developed for the high security printing industry and the specific needs of this market.
This facility in Poland joins other Gemalto sites in Brazil, Finland and Switzerland that have successfully completed the process of certification by Intergraf’s inspection team.
Evolis unveils Primacy Black Edition
Evolis has introduced the Primacy Black Edition, a revamped version of its flagship printer, Primacy. This device is being launched to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Evolis.
With a production of just 2,000 units, this limited edition uses the Primacy Duplex version, designed for double-sided card printing. The new printer model features a gracefully crafted body in red and glossy black, along with carbon effects that dress up both sides.
Besides its paying tribute to Evolis’ 15th anniversary, this limited edition evidences the flexibility of Evolis’ facilities and resources for production. From design, to development and production, this printer was up and running within a very short timeframe.
The Primacy Black edition is shipped with cardPresso XS Edition, a software tool to design and personalize plastic cards, with the help on a database if required. In addition, a color (YMCKO-K) ribbon with a capacity of 200 printings is included, along with 100 blank cards.
This printer is already available for ordering from Evolis distributors, and is to be shipped out in early November.
