GuestLogix has announced the launch of the airline industry’s first handheld contactless point-of-sale device that looks and behaves like a smart phone.
According to GuestLogix, the AVATA-m enables operators to maximize sales in their on-board stores, airport lounges or departure gates with contactless payment capability and Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and RFID connectivity.
GuestLogix is also unveiling at CARTES & IDentification 2010 its new PCI PED 2.0 certified contactless devices, the Mobile POS XPDA-S and XPDA-V.
With these devices, GuestLogix says it has developed a payment platform that greatly reduces processing time for onboard merchants, opening up greater en route sales opportunities.
