GOTrust Technology Inc.announced that it would start delivering its microSD hardware security module on Feb. 14, the opening day of the RSA Security Conference and Expo.
This hardware-based authentication and encryption/decryption solution will integrate with existing VPN clients on tablet PCs and smart phones.
The microSD HSM is a 32-bit, Common Criteria EAL 5+ certified crypto processor embedded inside a microSD memory module that includes up to eight GB of flash memory. All the authentication, encryption and decryption, including key exchange, is done inside the crypto processor so it does not impact the performance of the tablet or smart phone, thus providing much faster VPN communication.
The API interface for integration will have PKSC#11 and CSP interfaces and will support most existing VPN Clients. The interface library is available for Windows (PCs & Notebooks), Windows Mobile (Smart Phones), Android (Smart Phones and Tablet PCs) and Linux (PCs and other portable devices).
