GlobeRanger, Bechtel Jacobs utilize iMotion to track hazardous materials
GlobeRanger announced the completion of two subcontract extensions with Bechtel Jacobs, expanding upon a system previously deployed at the East Tennessee Technology Park.
Utilizing GlobeRanger’s iMotion software platform, the system automatically identifies vehicles at designated checkpoints, giving Bechtel Jacobs real-time visibility into material tracking as well as the ability to remotely manage RFID systems, even in locations where infrastructures may be non-existent.
Bechtel Jacobs is the environmental management contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge Office, Tennessee. Bechtel Jacobs is responsible for environmental services in which the waste material is transferred to designated landfills.
Each disposal vehicle must be recorded in detail prior to departure, and then verified, weighed and or time stamped at various checkpoints along the route. Strict record keeping is essential to the process and has traditionally been a laborious process. The system instantly flags and provides alerts and notifications if processes or time schedule variances deviated from pre-defined Bechtel Jacobs’s route expectations.
The solution is designed to support Bechtel Jacobs’ efforts for clean-up and safe removal of hazardous waste from the decontamination and decommissioning of various facilities, disposition of wastes and restoration of the environment.
