GlobalPlatform is hosting two one-day seminars in Beijing and Tokyo on how the mobile industry is coming together to standardize secure application execution in mobile handsets.
The seminars, titled “Leveraging GlobalPlatform Specifications to Develop Secure Applications on Mobile Devices,” are free to attend and are scheduled to take place on July 10 in Tokyo and July 17 in Beijing. The aim of the seminars is to facilitate the mass deployment of secure mobile applications on mobile devices through educating platform providers, software vendors and device manufacturers about the usage and benefits of adopting secure element technology and the Trusted Execution Environment (TEE).
Both of the seminars will introduce the secure element and TEE and lay out GlobalPlatform’s efforts to standardize the technologies from the perspectives of both hardware and software providers.
Next, principles and specifications to facilitate interaction and interoperability between programs will be outlined, with specific considerations for Application Program Interfaces. The TEE ecosystem will then be examined to demonstrate how stakeholders are collaborating to create and implement a secure and interoperable infrastructure to deploy applications in any connected device.
Delegates attending the seminars will also learn about the opportunities presented by the TEE for the development of trusted applications that can be run securely in open environments, such as Android, Windows Phone and Linux.
