Gemalto launched its LinqUs Mobile Wallet, a solution that enables a range of NFC services all from a single wallet.
The LinqUs Mobile Wallet enables mobile banking, mobile payment and loyalty programs all from a smartphone, and will be on showcase for the first time at Mobile World Congress 2013. LinqUs is the latest in a line of Gemalto software offerings to be fully integrated with the ever-growing portfolio of mobile financial services (MFS) solutions.
Customers can link existing accounts and cards to the LinqUs system, or simply set up new services. In addition to all banking activities, transportation, ticketing and access applications can also be conducted directly from the user’s smartphone. Moreover, LinqUs supports loyalty and couponing programs and facilitates mobile marketing campaigns.
LinqUs includes a secure application framework, a dedicated mobile wallet server and connectivity with Gemalto’s secure platforms for Trusted Service Management and mobile payment, enabling financial service providers and retailers to quickly deploy a variety of tailored services. Adoption on the service provider end will be simplified by Gemalto’s backend platforms, which are pre-integrated with the mobile wallet.
Gemalto’s TSM has recently seen implementation with KDDI, a mobile network operator in Japan, to deliver a commercial airline NFC boarding service. Gemalto has been providing its UpTeq NFC high-end SIM to KDDI since March 2012, and the NFC boarding service will provide a convenient solution to the more than 37 million passengers who fly with Japan Airlines (JAL) each year.
