Columbia taps Gemalto for ePassport inlay
Gemalto announced its delivery of the Sealys Premium Inlay and embedded Sealys eTravel Software for Colombia’s first national electronic passport program.
Gemalto is working with Thomas Greg and Sons, a specialist in secure printing. The Colombian ePassports leverage Gemalto’s new Sealys Inlay technology providing improved issuance and delivery capabilities to ensure rapid deployment of secure documents while enhancing travel for Colombia’s 38 million citizens.
Gemalto’s embedded Sealys eTravel software is ICAO Common Criteria certified. Colombia is now the 30th country Gemalto is enabling to evolve from paper identity to eDocuments.
SecureAuth unveils threat service feature
SecureAuth Corp. announced the release of SecureAuth Threat Service, a new service that provides a real-time watchtower and shield on the risks targeting customer resources. Leveraging threat information from a network of 11 million advanced threat sensors, the service determines whether an IP address is associated with known bad actors or anonymity infrastructure.
SecureAuth Threat Service customers can detect and protect against attacks while ensuring authorized users maintain access. Beyond simply providing that the IP Address is “bad,” SecureAuth Threat Service provides context around the IP Address such as the attack type and classification of the threat actor(s) and infrastructure involved – helping security staff better understand attack vectors and prevent access.
SecureAuth Threat Service:
- Combines multiple threat feeds to provide coverage and protection against today’s multifaceted threat landscape including the Advanced Persistent Threat, as well as Cyber Crime and Hacktivism
- Enhances a customer’s ability to identify compromised credentials before enabling access by determining whether an authentication request is coming from a known bad IP address or anonymity network
- Uses the most reliable and accurate IP geo-location data available, mapping all routable IP addresses worldwide
- SecureAuth Threat Service is one of six advanced adaptive techniques providing an intricate web of risk checks that make it nearly impossible for attackers to penetrate
Verasec adds IDpendant as partner
Versasec announced it has added German distributor IDpendant to its list of partners in Europe. IDpendant is known in Germany and beyond as an independent provider of IT security solutions.
The distributor offers exceptional experience around smart cards and public key infrastructure (PKI) solutions. Other services IDpendant provides for its customers include authentication technology, client security products, encryption solutions, mobile device management systems as well as security hardware.
