GAO RFID now offers an ultra-high frequency semi-passive temperature logger tag, suited for recording temperatures of sensitive food products and chemical/pharmaceutical products during transportation and storage.
The compact data logger, model 116045, provides a large memory capacity – up to 8000 temperature samples – with programmable sampling times. Once programmed, the unit will monitor temperature and trigger an alert if the temperature falls outside of the programmed boundaries.
This semi-passive temperature logger tag operates over a frequency range of 860 MHz to 928 MHz and offers a long read range of approximately 10 meters in air or 2.5 meters on metal. In addition, it has a battery life lasting typically 3 to 5 years.
The tag is compliant to the EPC Class1 Gen 2/ISO18000-6C standards and can be used with most Gen 2 UHF RFID readers. It is capable of unique ID plus long EPC code, programming temperature thresholds and battery charge measurement through RF. No calibration is required.
