GAO Asset Tracking, a division of Canada’s GAO Group, has introduced a LF RFID tag constructed of bio-glass for use in animal tracking applications. The tags are prepackaged in a sterile injector and sealed in plastic to protect against contamination.
The tag is designed for injection under an animal’s skin, and is suitable for solutions used in creating pet identification databases. The pre-encoded tags ship with corresponding 2D bar code labels. This format enables the user to inject an animal and then place the self adhesive bar-code sticker in documentation for that animal easily.
The Bio-glass tube RFID tag’s needle injection chamber and apparatus are structured to avoid common problems such as pre-injection needle caps, cavity loss and contaminated needles or chips. The needle and injector tube are ergonomically designed to provide easy and reliable operation. The tags themselves have a thirty year lifespan.
