GAO Gen2 tire tag for high temperature projects
15 February, 2010
category: RFID
GAO RFID announced the release of its Gen2 RFID tire tag capable of surviving the high temperatures typically encountered in the tire curving process.
The Gen2 tag, model 116043, operates in the 860 to 950 MHz frequency band and has a read distance of up to 1 meter. It also complies with ISO 16000-6C or EPC class 1 Gen2 standards for worldwide use.
The tag is embedded into the tire mold prior to the manufacturing and curing of the tire, so that the tire can be tracked electronically.
It sports a factory programmed tag identification number to prevent cloning using a 96-bit programmable EPC number and 192-bit user memory with lock capability.
