The French National Commission for Data Protection and the Liberties (CNIL) has announced that for the first time they have approved the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), managers of the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), to utilize biometric collection of test takers.
The GMAT, which will be using PalmSecure vascular readers, is the first test within France to obtain permission for biometric collection to secure its test-takers identities.
The GMAC have ensured that their system is exceptionally secure as it doesn’t store any images, but rather an encrypted biometric template that cannot be traced back to the individual. As CNIL has outlawed fingerprinting for testing, the GMAC utilized the palm-vein technology of PamlSecure to ensure that they met with their regulations to obtain permission to use their testing security measures in France.
