Foursquare update lets users ‘check-in’ with NFC

Foursquare, the GPS-based social networking site that lets users “check-in” to their favorite hang outs to earn loyalty points, is introducing NFC technology to its mobile app.
According to Slashgear.com, Foursquare v3.0 lets members with NFC Android phones check-in to locations by simply tapping their phones against a check-in point in the form of a blue badge.
The new version also features an updated Foursquare Merchant Platform, allowing the 250,000 businesses in Foursquare’s database to offer on-the-fly deals to customers using the app.
