Howard A. Schmidt has had a long distinguished career in government, law enforcement and corporate security, and is known for cutting to the heart of complex matters with insightful leadership and striking impact. He has served as CISO, VP and Chief Security Strategist for online auction giant eBay. He retired from the White House with over 3 decades of public service having been appointed by President Bush as the Vice Chair of the President’s Critical Infrastructure Protection Board and as the Special Adviser for Cyberspace Security for the White House, later assuming the Chairmanship. Mr. Schmidt most recently served as Chief Security Strategist for theUS CERT Partners Program for the Department of Homeland Security and is currently the international president of the Information Systems Security Association. Prior to the White House, Mr. Schmidt was CSO for Microsoft Corporation, director of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, with the FBI, and the Chandler, Arizona Police Department.
