Favite has launched a new ultra high frequency handheld reader, the FS-GH102, that is based on the Impinj R2000 reader chipset.
It meets compliance with electronic product code’s class one Gen2 standards and also supports dense reader mode. Unlike its predecessor, the R2000 chipset sports an increased sensitivity, which in turn increases the read range up to nine meters.
The FS-GH102 handheld reader is equipped with a Marvell PXA270 520 MHz processor, 1 GB Flash memory, and a 3.5-inch touch screen LCD, supports 1- and 2D bar code scanning. For wireless transmissions the ultra high frequency RFID reader sports WiFi, GPRS, GPS and Bluetooth.
The handheld reader contains a very small module with an internal antenna, allowing the unit to weigh in just under 500 g. It is suited for both indoor and outdoor usage as it is IP65 dust and waterproof. The embedded battery gives enough power for up to eight hours operation.
