Eye, an Australia-based advertising company, announced that it will launch what it calls the world’s largest network of NFC and QR-enabled out-of-home advertising.
The roll out will see Eye’s new Amplify platform deployed on 8,300 of their existing out-of-home sites throughout Australia, New Zealand, the U.S. and U.K. According to Eye, this will enable mobile users in those areas to receive media content on their mobile phones via NFC, QR code, SMS and augmented reality.
“With the exponential growth in smart phone penetration, advertisers recognize the power of mobile but the technology itself can often be the barrier to trial,” said Jeremy Corfield, Global Director of Commercial at Eye. “With Amplify, we have removed that perceived complexity.”
Eye has already begun deploying its Amplify network, which operates across airports, shopping centers and universities.
“We can now deliver content to 100% of phones and let consumers decide how they want to engage with their mobile phones,” added Jeff Gunderman, SVP and GM of Eye USA. “We see mobile as a great enabler for brands to connect with customers and allow sharing across social networks. This new and improved platform is an important step in helping brands bring their campaigns to life.”
