DHS RFID — May Be Full of ‘Holes’
The Department of Homeland Security’s RFID systems are filled with gaps, suggests a new report put out by the department’s Inspector General Richard Skinner.
Overall, the audits found good physical security controls on the RFID systems, Government Computer News reported Thursday. However, GCN reports there are no department policies and procedures regarding management and protection of the systems(says the IG). And there also is a lack of security planning while systems are in development and inadequate security controls on databases associated with the RFID systems.
