LAS VEGAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–March 26, 2003– Checkpoint Systems, Inc. (NYSE: CKP), a leading provider of supply chain management and security solutions worldwide, has introduced Pinnacle, an innovative, user-friendly, multi-feature, security software for facility access control.
Pinnacle was debuted today at the International Security Conference West at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas. Pinnacle supports applications ranging from small, single-server sites to large, complex installations with multiple servers. The design of the Graphical User Interface (GUI) makes it easy to operate while still providing the highest level of building security management.
Pinnacle will be available at three different levels – standard, plus and professional – based on the number of readers and cards needed for the access control system. The Pinnacle solution sets a new benchmark in flexibility with its embedded Software Developers Kit (SDK) and Visual Basic Application (VBA) environment. The SDK provides an open architecture system in which new third party vendor applications can be integrated into the Pinnacle system quickly and efficiently. The VBA Application Development Tools enable users to customize various aspects of the system, from screen layouts to operator actions, to meet specific requirements.
“In today’s environment security is the top priority for our customers. Customer are also requiring security systems that are both scalable and easily upgradeable,” said Douglas Karp, Senior Director & General Manager ID Products Group, Checkpoint Systems. “Pinnacle addresses both sets of needs by providing an embedded Software Developers Kit and Graphical User Interface in an open architecture environment.”
Pinnacle’s other features include the designation of an unlimited number of access levels across an unlimited number of “time zones” within one facility, and up to 99 access levels for each individual cardholder. Temporary access levels can also be created, activated and deactivated without affecting regular access levels. Pinnacle also supports a mixture of card formats, enabling users to designate and modify security and access levels to correspond with the needs and requirements of the individual facility.
Pinnacle can support unlimited separate workstations that grant multiple operators access to important information. Each workstation includes screens to provide individual snapshots of locations throughout the building. The system is compatible with radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, so that in addition to monitoring personnel, users can track valuable assets.
The system’s Photo ID Badging capability simplifies image capture and badge creation and is compatible with an array of cameras, scanners and printers. Easy on-screen editing features include color, brightness, contrast, cropping, vignetting and red eye removal.
