CARDLOGIX INTRODUCES THE CREDENTSYS™ DUAL INTERFACE SMART CARD FAMLIY FOR SECURE ID
Irvine, Ca., September 6, 2006 – CardLogix, a leading provider of secure smart cards, announced today the CREDENTYSYS™ smart card family for secure ID and access. The family consists of smart cards that meet the requirements of the U.S. Government Personal Identity Verification (PIV) program for securing identity, data and facilities.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has mandated that all Federal Agencies start issuing FIPS 201 approved PIV II cards by the fall of 2006. Governed by Presidential Directive (HSPD) 12, this program will verify the identity of every employee throughout all agencies and significantly improve data security as well. Employees will use the card for identification, as well as facility and data access. The cards are programmed with security levels appropriate to individual status and required access. Using advanced cryptography, the card authenticates and protects the cardholder’s identity and privileges from unauthorized access and use.
CREDENTSYS Card Family features include:
- A choice of two secure OS configurations, Multos and Java Card>/li>
- Dual interface technology- with two interfaces in the same card; CREDENTSYS cards can either be inserted into a reader or passed by a contactless-type reader.
- Patented Flexible Bump interconnection technology. This manufacturing process innovatively extends the durability of the card’s internal connections to the embedded antenna for longer life.
- CREDENTSYS cards are hardened for security and enhanced for performance with advanced RISC processors with crypto-cores. They feature EAL 4 silicon with NSA Suite B-compliant encryption.
