The iGuard IP Biometric Security Appliance has its own TV series. At least it will be appearing in one. The security appliance, designed for access control and time/attendance using fingerprint verification, will be featured in the March 21 episode of the Fox TV series, “24.” And it likely will show up during the remainder of the season.
The iGuard® Internet based fingerprint biometric security appliance distributed by Biometrics Direct will be featured in this episode and will again be featured throughout the rest of the season as a security device onscreen in the CTU and the Presidential Bunker.
Biometrics Direct is a global leader in the manufacture, distribution and sale of biometric security technology products. The iGuard Security Appliance is a field-proven Biometric (Fingerprint Verification), and/or Contactless Mifare Smart Card Access Control & Time Attendance Network Appliance for business.
Utilizing fingerprint authentication, with the option of advanced contact-less smart card technology the iGuard system provides unparalleled security, performance and reliability. Biometrics Direct distributes the iGuard® Security Appliance product developed and manufactured by Lucky Technology, Ltd, HK.
Wayne Wilkerson, President of US Operations for Lucky Technology says “Having served in the security industry over the past 20 years it has become apparent that advances in technology is ushering in a new generation of security devices.
Biometrics, including fingerprint readers coupled with contact less smart cards, will be the standard for the future rather than the exception. The iGuard appliance offers the industry’s highest degree of leading-edge technology allowing total security at an affordable price”
The iGuard® Security Appliance is the premier IP based biometric and smart card security solution for time and attendance and access control markets. Incorporating patented technology, the iGuard® Security Appliance grants access to authorized individuals by using biometric and next generation smart card technology.
“The iGuard is an Internet Appliance. This means that it is not dependent upon other software, hardware or substantial infrastructure to operate and that it is based upon IP or Internet Protocol technology.
The patented iGuard web interface and ease of enrollment allows the company manager to simply attach the iGuard appliance to their network and immediately begin using the security features of this product. Secure authentication, rapid deployment and ease of use are the hallmark features of the iGuard® Security Appliance.
One of the largest sources of fraud in this country is that of employees faking hours worked on their time card. Techniques such as “buddy punching” cost businesses millions of dollars in lost productivity and outright fraudulent and unnecessary expense.
The iGuard® Security Appliance puts an end to this type of fraud immediately and can show a typical 50 employee company full return on their investment within 4 to 6 months. Everything after that is money added right to the bottom line.” continues Mr. Childers
The iGuard® Security Appliance excells as an access control device. Companies can enroll users in groups, assign doors within their facility in multiple zones and grant users access to these doors based upon time/date/group/or zone. This flexibility and the patented web technology make the iGuard one of the most successful biometric access control products on the market today. Doors may be secured using a strike release or magnetic lock connected directly to the iGuard unit.
The access control function is the feature that will be displayed in Fox’s 24 within the CTU and the Presidential Bunker.
The iGuard® Security Appliance scalable from 20 up to 20,000 users and is fully compatible with all network systems operating an IP environment.
Unlike other security systems that require proprietary components, the iGuard incorporates an embedded Web Server, which enables all computers, such as Apple Mac, PCs, Unix, or Linux from within the corporate computer network to setup, maintain and access the information of the device simultaneously using any well-known Internet Browser including Windows Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator or Mozilla Firefox.
The iGuard® Security Appliance is available from Biometrics Direct or any of its authorized resellers. Information on the iGuard and authorized resellers can be found at: www.iguarddirect.com or www.iguardus.com.
