BioID has announced it has developed a Biometric Authentication as a Service (BaaS) solution. The new service utilizes face recognition, iris recognition, voice recognition or any combination of the three for authentication.
BaaS works as a Web-based solution by offering a single sign-on service based on OpenID, an identity system with over a billion users and supported by a number of large companies.
Additionally, the service was developed with concern for curbing the potential security issues of phishing attacks and privacy concerns through requiring user interaction for authentication throughout the process to eliminate man-in-the-middle attacks and allowing user’s to decide how and where their information is being shared at all times.
